Questions & Answers

Q:
Why is a cover sheet necessary?
A:
A cover sheet not only protects your garment, it also protects your upper platen from stains, inks, adhesives, and scratches.
Q:
How do I get HPGL Files?
A:
The file extension for an HPGL file is .plt. When creating a design in a graphics software, you will need to export the file as a .plt and then import it into your cutter software to cut the design.
Q:
My cut tray is not moving for my Ioline 300. Do I need a repair?
A:
Check to see if the small drive belt needs to be replaced.
Q:
What caused my material to bunch while cutting?
A:
On a flatbed cutter, this may be caused by your adhesive sheets losing tackiness. Adhesive sheets should be replaced.
Q:
What caused my material to bunch while cutting?
A:
On a vinyl cutter, be sure the pinch rollers are locked down, securing the edges of your material to allow for continuous feed.
Q:
How do I determine if a file is RGB or CMYK using CorelDraw® ?
A:
1) Choose the Eyedropper tool from the “Tool Box”
2) Left click on the logo
3) A reading should come up within the color fill indicator. This should specify if the file is RGB or CMYK.
Q:
Why are designs not cutting smoothly and leaving ragged edges?
A:
First, check that your blade does not need to be replaced, then verify that you are using the proper cutting guidelines for the material you are cutting. If this doesn't solve the problem, it could be the amount of nodes in the design. To reduce the number of nodes in a design you will need to use your graphics program's node edit tool.
Q:
My cutter won’t cut after the job was sent from my computer. What could be the problem?
A:
Check to see that your cables are securely connected from the computer to the cutter. If that doesn't work, consult your owner's manual.
Q:
How long will my cover sheet last?
A:
The life of a cover sheet depends on how often you use it and if it's stored and cared for properly. Reusable Cover Sheets are more durable and can last several months. Kraft Cover Sheets are for short-term use.
