Hotronix® Heat Press Power Platen™

No more scorched garments.

Designed to reduce the risk of scorch marks on heat-sensitive polyester or synthetic fabrics, this heated lower platen has a built-in heat printing pillow. Available in 4 sizes, each controlled by one interchangeable digital controller (sold separately). Full set of Hotronix® Power Platens™ includes one controller.

  • Application instructions are for polyester or synthetic fabrics only. Make sure to increase the time if you are using a thicker garment. Do not pre-heat polyester or synthetic garments.
  • Compatible with 16" x 20" Hotronix® Auto Clam, MAXX® Clam, and Air FUSION heat presses. (Not compatible with Hotronix Fusion or draw presses).
  • 6" x 20" Power Platen is not recommended for Hotronix® Auto Clam.
  • For heat presses with a machine born-on date before 2014, call Stahls’ Hotronix at 800.727.8520.

Application on 100% Polyester:
Lower platen temperature: 320°F
Upper platen temperature: 270°F
Time: 10 seconds (depending on thickness of garment)
Pressure: 60 psi (Medium/#6 on Hotronix machines)*

Application on 95% Polyester / 5% Spandex / Triblends:
Lower platen temperature: 290°F
Upper platen temperature: 270°F
Time: 30 seconds
Pressure: 60 psi (Medium/#6 on Hotronix machines)*

Test other brands of heat transfer vinyl
and fabrics before starting production

Note: Power Platen not recommended for use on 100% cotton fabrics. For blends with high cotton content proceed with caution. Test application using upper heat only, if it scorches test using lower heat.

*Decrease pressure for smaller Power Platen sizes:
16" x 20": 40-50 psi (#4 or 5 on Hotronix)
11" x 15" and 6x20: 30 psi (#3 on Hotronix)
6" x 6": 20 psi (#2 on Hotronix)
